Henry Josei EricksonWhen I was younger I was an avid color film photographer. Life, children and career took up more and more of my time and I took a 15 year hiatus from photography. My path through life with its twists and turns, my long time Zen practice, my wife and photographer, Amalia Veralli, and my yearning for connection and insight have led me back to photography as an artistic expression of my spiritual journey.
When I’m out shooting I get caught up in my surroundings and moment to moment the landscape reveals itself and draws me into it and out of myself. My goal as photographer and print maker is to convey the sense of that experience. My images are meant to draw you in and evoke a sense of place, to reveal the beauty and simplicity of our world, and our connection to it. My desire is that these images will raise awareness of what’s at risk when we‘re not connected. What I see through the lens is a gift from the world and to the world I bow in profound gratitude.
My hope is that these images will draw you into the present moment and reveal something of the world in you and you in the world.
